Sans Onion

Why no onion?

Plenty of people just don't like onion: the taste, the texture, the way it takes over a dish. Most recipe sites make you fix that yourself. This one starts from the other direction.

What "onion-free" means here

How garlic works

Garlic is allowed, but off by default. Recipes with garlic carry a Garlic OK badge and stay hidden until you switch on the garlic filter on the recipes page. Your choice is remembered in your browser.

What this is not

This is a taste-first site, not an allergy resource. Store-bought broths, spice blends and sauces often hide onion, so read labels. If you have an allium allergy, treat our recipes as a starting point and verify every ingredient yourself.

Onion-free, for flavor. Every recipe here is written without onions or onion-derived ingredients (shallots, scallions, onion powder, and similar). We built this site for people who simply prefer food without onion, so we do not test to allergen standards. Packaged foods vary by brand: check labels on broths, spice blends and sauces. If you have an allium allergy or medical need, verify every ingredient yourself.
